The Institut für Internationale Kommunikation Deutschland e.V. is a non-profit organization committed to promoting education, intercultural exchange, and professional mobility. A key part of this commitment is awarding scholarships – because we want to make access to the German language and culture easier for people worldwide and support them on their educational journey.
With our scholarships, we enable international students and teachers to participate in high-quality German courses and teacher training programs – both online and on-site in Germany.
If you study or teach abroad, you can apply for free courses or training programs. The scholarships cover the costs of online and in-person courses as well as teacher training – and sometimes even accommodation in Düsseldorf or Berlin.
Starting in 2024, new conditions apply: you cannot apply directly but must be nominated by an institution or a partner of the Institut für Internationale Kommunikation Deutschland e.V., such as a university, a German teachers’ association, or a non-profit organization. Please send the application by email to: geschaeftsfuehrung(at)iik-deutschland.de.
Applications can be submitted during the first quarter of each year. Only complete applications that meet all requirements will be considered. The requirements include:
- a current CV,
- a recommendation from the nominating institution,
- if applicable, certificates or evidence demonstrating your passion for the German language and culture.
Selected scholarship recipients will be notified by email. Afterwards, we will publish the names on the Institute’s website and, if applicable, through other media channels.
