Training 1: Media project work: Modern Methods for activation (05.08.24 - 09.08.24) >>German is not cool. Or is it? How do you activate young learners, arouse their interest and motivate them to learn? By creatively integrating the language into current phenomena of internet culture, everyone can find access to the difficult and dry foreign language German. The following topics can be worked on in a collaborative, differentiated and interactive way in themed weeks or through project-based work:
- Video production and didactic embedding of self-produced videos
- Challenges to increase motivation in foreign language lessons
- Internet culture for creative storytelling: emojis, memes and gifs
In this training course, teachers are given an overview of current, up-to-date Internet phenomena that are spreading among young Germans all over the world, try out larger projects themselves as part of video production to impart knowledge and plan practical project ideas for their own lessons.
- Get to know the basics of video production (including script templates, editing and sound) and try it out for themselves
- Understand modern, young internet culture and participate independently, e.g. by creating your own memes for the classroom
- Develop your own project ideas and increase learner motivation through interactive methods
Training 2: Digital ideas for teaching: presence, online or hybrid (12.08.24 - 16.08.24) >>
The speed of progress in digital teaching options is making it increasingly difficult to gain an overview of the purpose and possibilities of using tools and apps in foreign language teaching.
This advanced training course teaches the latest findings in digital teaching. Participating teachers will learn all about the "digital classroom" and develop strategies for using it in their own lessons. In workshops, examples of the use of tablets & co. in the classroom are presented and tried out. Teachers will learn how to use which web-based tools and platforms in a targeted manner and, for example, how to create teaching materials and make them available digitally with the help of artificial intelligence and acquire knowledge about online-based games, apps, interactive worksheets and virtual collaboration platforms for all forms of teaching.
A particular focus of the training course is on presenting the technical and didactic features of online or hybrid teaching.
- Get an overview of the wide range of didactically usable tools and programs
- Get to know and try out examples of digitally supported teaching, e.g. using AI to simplify preparation and follow-up work for teachers
- Understand the technical background and pedagogical framework concepts for live online teaching, hybrid teaching and blended learning concepts
- Develop lesson plans for transfer to their own teaching practice and the step towards digital transformation

Funding example
In the new EU education programme ERASMUS+ you can apply for grants for this training course - travel costs, accommodation, meals and course fees are funded.
In contrast to the previous application practice, the institutions/employers of teachers must now apply for the scholarships from the respective National Agencies - several scholarships can be applied for directly in one application.
