Zertifikat Deutsch:
The Zertifikat Deutsch exam (ZD) is a language test that allows the learner to demonstrate his/her ability to use the German language proficiently in many daily situations and professional environments. This means that learners are able to master all important situations when staying in German-speaking countries as well as in their own country (when the German language is necessary). By finishing the Zertifikat Deutsch exam, participants also show that they understand local peculiarities of the German language. This test was developed in concert with the Goethe-Institut, the Österreichisches Sprachdiplom (ÖSD), the Schweizer Erziehungsdirektorenkonferenz (EDK) and the WBT. | Target audience: | The "Zertifikat Deutsch" (ZD) test corresponds to the internationally accepted proficiency scale of the Council of Europe, and ranks as stage B1. Participants should have completed 350 - 600 teaching units in the German language before taking the test. | | Test procedure: | The test is generally offered twice a year, in spring and autumn, at regular dates for all partner organisations. The test consists of two parts: a written exam which is conducted in a group setting (reading comprehension, language modules, listening comprehension, and written expression) and an oral exam which is conducted individually.
